Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This website is operated by Homeswipe Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17375355), registered office 29 Moss Lane, Elstow, Bedford, MK42 9YT. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Homeswipe Limited.
Homeswipe Limited is the data controller for the personal data described below. If you have any question about this policy, or want to exercise any of your rights, email [email protected] or write to us at the registered office above.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Homeswipe Limited provides custom software development and IT consultancy services to businesses. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
- Email for data protection queries: [email protected]
- Telephone: 07848 457 128
- Postal address: 29 Moss Lane, Elstow, Bedford, MK42 9YT, United Kingdom
2. What personal data we collect
We only collect what you send us. Specifically:
- Enquiry form data: your name, your email address, any services you tick, and the content of the message you write.
- Direct contact: if you email or telephone us, whatever you choose to include — typically your name, contact details, and information about your business or project.
- Technical data held by our hosting provider: your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, recorded in standard server logs for security and reliability.
- Cookie preference: a single value stored in your browser recording whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking software on this website, and we do not use the enquiry form to build a marketing list. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not ask for special category data.
3. Why we process it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis (Art. 6 UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry, preparing a quotation and arranging a consultation | Name, email, services selected, message | Art. 6(1)(b) — steps taken at your request before entering a contract; and Art. 6(1)(f) legitimate interests where you enquire on behalf of an organisation |
| Delivering a project, supporting it and invoicing for it | Contact details, correspondence, project records | Art. 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract |
| Keeping accounting and tax records | Invoice and payment records | Art. 6(1)(c) — legal obligation (Companies Act 2006, tax law) |
| Keeping this website secure and available | Server log data including IP address | Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in protecting our systems |
| Storing your cookie preference | A single browser storage value | Strictly necessary — required by PECR to remember your choice |
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Client project records and correspondence: for the duration of the engagement and 6 years afterwards, so we can answer questions about work we delivered and defend any legal claim.
- Invoices and accounting records: 6 years from the end of the relevant financial year, as required by UK tax law.
- Server logs: retained by our hosting provider on a rolling basis, typically no longer than 90 days.
- Cookie preference: held in your browser until you clear your browser storage.
5. Who else sees your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under written terms:
- Our web hosting provider — stores this website and its server logs.
- Our email provider — carries and stores correspondence sent to and from [email protected].
- Our accounting software provider — holds invoice records for clients.
- Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry) — serves the typefaces used on this website. Your browser requests the font files directly, which means your IP address is visible to that provider. Fontshare sets no cookies for this purpose.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs) — serves the animation library used by this website, on the same basis: an IP-visible file request, no cookies.
We will also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to HMRC, a regulator, or a court order.
6. International transfers
Our hosting, email and accounting providers store data within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. The font and script providers named above operate content delivery networks with servers worldwide, so a request from your browser may be served from outside the UK. Where any transfer outside the UK occurs, it is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. No personal data from the enquiry form is transferred outside the UK or EEA.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- be told what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (access);
- have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
- have data deleted where we no longer need it (erasure);
- ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved (restriction);
- receive data you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format (portability);
- object to processing we carry out under legitimate interests;
- not be subject to automated decision-making — we do not carry out any.
Withdrawing consent
Where processing relies on your consent — currently only your cookie choice — you may withdraw it at any time. Clear this website's storage in your browser settings and the banner will reappear so you can choose again, or press “Decline”. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything processed beforehand.
How to exercise a right
Email [email protected] with the words “data request” in the subject line, or write to the registered office. We may ask for proof of identity. We respond within one month of receiving a valid request, as required by UK GDPR. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
8. Complaints
Please raise any concern with us first — email [email protected] and we will look into it. You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at any time.
- Website: www.ico.org.uk
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
- Post: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
9. Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the two directors of Homeswipe Limited. Client systems and repositories are protected with multi-factor authentication. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so please do not send passwords, card details or other credentials through the enquiry form.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
